Fort Lewis College is a four-year, state-assisted, undergraduate institution that offers quality baccalaureate degree programs in the arts and sciences and in the professional areas of education and business. Durango High School offers a variety of educational programs to accommodate individual student needs. The school offers extensive electives in all departments, including music, art, theater; business, technology and vocational education. Honors courses and advanced-placement classes are available in grades 9-12. Counselors work with parents and students to plan their educational program beginning in ninth grade. Special education help is available for identified tudents. 


Miller Middle School

Miller offers a comprehensive middle-school program including grade-level interdisciplinary teams, homeroom, block scheduling, community-based service learning projects, computer and technology education. Counseling and support services, student-led conferences, and a variety of exploratory classes are provided. Class size is approximately 25 students per teacher.


Escalante Middle School

Reading, writing, mathematics, geography, science, and history are all taught using the team approach. We meet students' individual learning needs by challenging our instruction to address each students' learning style, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. We use online and computer-based instruction, individualizing reading programs , and student learning groups based on similar academic abilities. Escalante offers a challenging array of exploratory courses, including keyboarding, art, technology, foreign language, band, orchestra, choir, PE, health, interpersonal skills, and computer instruction.
