East Thrid Avenue
In laying out the city, Durango's founding fathers
designated Main Avenue as the "wholesale" street, Second Avenue as
the "retail" Street and Third Avenue as "A the residential
boulevard with rows of trees down the middle like Colorado Springs". Today
Third Avenue is a delightful mix of 100 year old Victorians next to quaint
little bungalows and, lots of churches. The trees help make this area as
beautiful as any residential street in America.
